Club21 |
Location: 1119 21st Street, Sacramento, California, USA
Opened: June 22, 2001
Closed: Late 2012? Early 2013?
This description is from the KCRA A-List:
From the Owner … Club21 is predominately a women's bar on the weekend, though all are made to feel at home here. We feature eclectic entertainment that is fun for everyone. Since we opened our doors on June 22nd, 2001 we've had everything from drag shows and comedy acts to live bands and bus trips to sporting events such as the Monarchs games at Arco Area.
There is a note that Club 21 is closed, but no date.
And here's an August 2005 mention from Sacramento News & Review:

At GayCities. there is one reference (complaint?) about this being a lesbian place. From a gay guy in September 2010:
Men are welcome here, but this is predominantly a lesbian bar which is fine if thats what youre looking for. But not very busy. So youre not going to find too many cute young gay boys here.

According to yelp, Club21 was gone by late 2012, early 2013. Here is a customer review from January 2013:
Club 21 has changed ownership. The new club is Midtown Barfly or Barfly.
There is Salsa Dancing on Wednesday evenings starting at 8:00.
Salsa lesson at 8:00 with Nicole Lazo, dancing at 9:00. Great low key atmosphere on a Wednesday night.
For what it's worth, yelp has very few references to this being a lesbian bar except for some random observation regarding "boidykes" running around.
